More Than Design
A Complete Outdoor Vision

Landscape design is more than selecting plants or materials, it’s about creating a cohesive outdoor environment where every element works together. At Hogue, we take a design-led approach that considers client needs, house architecture and site conditions, which then guides us to topics like hardscape, outdoor structures, drainage, lighting, plant selections, and more, to create functionality straight from the start.

This ensures your landscape is not only beautiful, but also practical, efficient, and aligned with how your space will actually be used.

Design for
Outdoor Spaces

Create an outdoor space that reflects how you live, entertain, and experience your home. At Hogue Landscape Services, our landscape design process is rooted in thoughtful planning, creative vision, and a deep understanding of Houston’s climate and conditions.

Whether you’re starting from a blank slate or reimagining an existing space, we design landscapes that are both visually compelling and built to perform long-term.

Why Design Matters

Landscape Architecture

A well-designed landscape goes beyond appearance, it defines how your outdoor space functions and evolves over time.

  • Maximizes usability and flow of your space
  • Prevents costly issues related to drainage and layout
  • Enhances curb appeal and property value
  • Reduces long-term maintenance challenges
  • Creates a cohesive, intentional outdoor environment

Designed for
Houston Conditions

Houston’s climate requires careful planning. Heat, rainfall, soil conditions, and plant selection all play a role in long-term success. Our designs account for these factors from the start, ensuring your landscape thrives, not just initially, but over time.

What to Expect: Our Design Process

1. Consultation & Site Evaluation

We meet with you to understand your goals, preferences, and how you plan to use your space.

Our team reviews all the specifics from the initial consultation and if it is determined that extensive design is required, we will estimate the time necessary to create a design and/or masterplan. This can be accomplished as a set fee or by the hour, billed monthly.

Our design team invests the time necessary to achieve the project goals, wants, needs, etc. through the creation of a design or masterplan. In the development stage we provide rough budgets to help guide decisions.

After the initial concept has been presented, our team takes all feedback back to the design studio where we refine layout, and then define materials, and details to ensure functionality and aesthetic alignment. Once completed, our team can start producing contracts to execute all or parts of your project.

If needed for your specific project, the second part of the design proposal is presented for funding, which engages our design team to create construction drawings, work with civil and structural engineers, and start the permitting process.

Once ready for implementation, the design team partners with one of our in-house project management, purchasing, and operations team members to create the in-house team to see your project come to life.

As a design-build firm, we ensure the final result reflects the original vision by constant communication and site visits with our in-house teams ensuring that your project is built according to plan and any changes or modifications (because every project has them) are thoughtful and purposeful.
